About Assam Affordable Food Scheme
The Assam affordable food scheme is a government initiative that was launched by the chief minister of Assam, Mr Hemant Biswas Sarma, under the National Food Security Act. With the help of this initiative, the Aslam state government aims to provide 1 KG of Masoor Daal, 1 KG of salt, and 1 KG of sugar to all the financially weak citizens at a price of INR 117. The state government has also promised the citizens that the price of all three commodities will be significantly reduced in January 202,6 with an expected price of INR 100 for all three items.

The main objective of launching the scheme is to help the citizens of Assam state and allow them to get proper food grains without any difficulty.
