During a gathering in Guwahati, the chief minister of Assam state, Mr Hemant Biswas Sarma, announced the launch of the scheme on 29th October 2025. This scheme was launched as a gift to all the government employees and pensioners in Assam state, allowing them to gain free healthcare services at various empanelled hospitals. The hospitals are available not only in Assam but nationwide, allowing beneficiaries to receive cashless treatment at any empanelled hospital across the country. Government employees just have to show their health card, issued by the Assam State government, to receive cashless treatment.

The main objective of launching the scheme is to allow the government officials of Assam state, get various healthcare benefits. By showing their health card, the government employees of Assam state can get free healthcare services. More than two lakh government employees of Assam state and 6000 pensioners of Assam state will avail the benefits of the scheme.
