About Jammu and Kashmir CM Heritage Scheme
On 6th November 2025, the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mr Omar Abdullah, announced the launch of the Jammu and Kashmir CM Heritage Scheme. According to the information, the scheme will revive 7 traditional Craft Courses across 25 units in Government ITIs/Polytechnics. Under this initiative, the authorities will select a total of 500 students from multiple traditions for the skill development programme. All the students who will get selected under the skill development programme will receive stipends and an honorar̥ium for instructors

The main objective of launching the scheme is to uplift the experience of multiple students and allow them to become experts in the crafts they are pursuing. The scheme will significantly uplift the cultural heritage of Kashmir and help the citizens to revive the forgotten culture of the UT.
