According to the information, a total of 16,000 individuals will be selected through a draw system for this religious journey. About Punjab Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Scheme
The Punjab state government launched the Punjab Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Scheme to assist the devotees of the Sikh community. With the help of this scheme, the selected citizens will get a chance to visit various religious places, including Sri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Sthal, Jallianwala Bagh, the Partition Museum, and other religious places in Amritsar. He said that under this scheme, citizens will be taken for visits to several other sacred sites across the state, like Sri Anandpur Sahib and Mata Naina Devi in Himachal Pradesh, too.
Objective Punjab Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Scheme
The main objective of launching the scheme is to honour the 350th anniversary of the ninth group of the Sikh community, Shri Tegh Bahadur Ji. According to the information, a total of 16,000 devotees from each assembly segment will be selected for this journey. All the devotees who are above the age of 50 years and have a valid voter ID card are eligible to avail the benefits of the scheme. A total of 40 pilgrims will be duly selected through a draw from each booth out of every 100 registered individuals. The selected citizens will travel through AC buses and get AC hotel rooms during the journey.
