Under this scheme, the government provides free sarees that are made entirely by handloom workers of Sircilla. This scheme is divided into two phases, which provide sarees on the basis of location. About Telangana Saree Distribution Scheme
The “Telangana Saree Distribution Scheme” is a newly announced state-oriented free saree allocation scheme launched on the occasion of Indira Gandhi’s birth anniversary at Necklace Road, Hyderabad, on Wednesday by the Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy, to provide Indiramma sarees to 1 crore women in the state, covering both Urban and ruler areas. This scheme will be implemented in a total of two parts, which will ensure a smooth distribution process so that no woman is deprived of free sarees due to her residency location, whether she lives in rural or urban areas. In the first phase, all selected women who come from villages will receive sarees by December 9, which would involve the distribution of 65 lakh sarees to women across rural regions, followed by the remaining 35 lakh during the second phase to women in urban areas starting from March 1st to 8, coinciding with International Women’s Day.
Objective of Telangana Saree Distribution Scheme
The main objective of this is to provide Indiramma sarees to a total of 1 crore women across the state, respective of their location of residency. This schema is divided into two phases, out of which the first phase would involve the distribution of 65 lakh sarees to women in ruler areas, followed by the remaining 35 lakh during the second phase in March. The main aim of dividing this is came into two segments it’s to ensure that no woman is left out from receiving Indiramma sarees from the government, and ultimately works on the theme of women empowerment.
