About Telangana Mahalakshmi Scheme
The “Telangana Mahalakshmi” is a women empowerment scheme designed by the Government of Telangana for thousands of female residents who belong to economically weaker sections by helping them in covering their own requirements on their own, without any dependence on others for this purpose. Under this scheme, along with monthly financial assistance, the government will also provide access to purchase LPG gas cylinders at just Rs 500 per cylinder per month, and last but not least, free rides on Telangana State Road Transportation Corporation (TSRTC) buses within the state boundary. Under this, the government of Telangana has allocated a total of Rs 480 crore as a total budget distributed in three projects. Out of 480 crore, Rs 200 crore has been allocated for the fine rice bonus, are 60 crore for the LPG Mahalaxmi scheme, and Rs 220 crore for the minority department, respectively. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible applicant needs to clear the following eligibility criteria These are as mentioned below:-
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Telangana.
- Applicant must be a woman by gender.
- Applicant must belong to the economically weaker section of society.
- Applicants from the below poverty line BPL and Antyodaya categories are eligible to apply.
