The “Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam Scheme” or “Kalaignar Women’s Rights Grant Scheme” is a state specific monthly financial assistance program designed by Government of Tamil Nadu first in Kancheepuram the hometown of CN Annadurai to give honor to him and Launched on his birth anniversary on 15th September in year 2023 for the empowerment of thousands of women who are unable to manage their regular expenses and due to this still depends on others for their basic requirements. In the first round of this scheme, a total of 1,13,75,492 women beneficiaries were selected and received a sum of 1,000, which was credited into their bank accounts. Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicant needs to meet the following eligibility criteria’s these are as follows:-

  • Applicant must be a permanent resident of Tamil Nadu.
  • Applicant must be a woman head of the family.
  • Age of the applicant must be more than 21 years at the time of application.
  • There is no bar on gender or marital status means all women, whether they are married, unmarried, also transgender, residing in TN are eligible.
  • Applicant must have a registered bank account linked with an Aadhar card.
  • Applicant family must not own more than 10 acres of dry land or five acres of wetland, respectively.
  • Applicant’s annual household power consumption must be below 3600 units.
  • Applicant or any member of the family must not hold a four-wheeler.
  • Annual income of the applying candidate’s family must be less than Rs 2.5 lakh per annum from all sources.
